UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development) has adopted a research project of Prof. Maarten Pieter Schinkel (Amsterdam Center for Law & Economics, University of Amsterdam) and Dovile Venskutonyte (University of Amsterdam) on its Research Partnership Platform.

The project Bespoke Competition Policy for Developing Countries studies the place and role of competition policy in developing countries in different stages of economic progress. The project aims to identify what kind of competition law enforcement is best suited to what stage of development an emerging economy is in. On a theoretical basis, the project intends to develop empirical methods for data analysis that are to be implemented, in order to subsequently advise on practical policy matters. UNCTAD’s extensive network, experience, and available databases will be crucial to the success of this joint ACLE research project.
