Maarten Pieter Schinkel (ACLE) has responded, on the basis of recent research with Yossi Spiegel (Tel Aviv University) and Lukas Toth (ACLE), to the consultation Policy rule Competition and Sustainability. Schinkel’s advice is to drop the policy and promote sustainability with different means, in particular regulation. The Policy rule saddles the competition authority ACM with an unwanted conflict of public interests.
