Dr. J.A.P. (Johanna) Lorenzo joined the Amsterdam Center for International Law (ACIL) in August 2021. Her research and publications concentrate on development and global governance issues arising from the intersections of international economic law, international environmental law, and international human rights law. She is pleased to be part of the Sustainable Global Economic Law (SGEL) project and to participate in the Center’s activities.
Dr. Johanna Aleria Lorenzo

Prior to joining the Amsterdam Law School, Johanna was a postdoctoral fellow in the Berlin Potsdam Research Group ‘International Rule of Law – Rise or Decline?’. Her article, entitled ‘A Multilateral Track for Sustainable Development Along the Belt and Road: Aligning Country Ownership with International Rule of Law’ (published as part of the KFG Working Paper Series), studied the sustainable development implications of the legal and regulatory framework governing cooperation activities and infrastructure investments.

She has also previously taught international trade law (LLM program) and public international law at the University of the Philippines. Johanna holds a JSD (Doctor of the Science of Law) from Yale University, United States.
