The section of Criminal Law and the Amsterdam Center for International Law (ACIL) of the Amsterdam Law School are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on a project on Secondary Liability for International Crimes (SLIC) and Serious Human Rights Violations.

Rethinking SLIC* is a NWO-funded research project led by Professor Göran Sluiter. The aim of the project is to assess whether the existing laws and practices on secondary liability are adequate in light of the generally recognized importance to end and prevent serious human rights violations.

  • assisting in the finalization of the work of the Expert Group. To that end you will function as the Managing Editor of the final publication and will also contribute to research in progress to finalize the results of the Expert Group.
  • conducting independent research on secondary liability, including publication of a peer-reviewed article on issues of secondary liability for international crimes;
  • participating in and contributing to the project’s activities, such as presenting research at regular project-meetings, writing blogs for the website and organising/presenting at feedback & information seminars.
