On 5–6 June, UvA’s Kanad Bagchi and Tim Lindgren, together with Lys Kulamadayil (Geneva Graduate Institute) and Debadatta Bose (UC Berkeley), hosted the workshop ‘International Law’s Local Encounters: Experiences and Imaginaries of (De-)Coloniality’. The workshop welcomed a diverse group of participants, bringing together a remarkable range of topics, perspectives, and voices from across the globe.

The conversations were challenging and urgent, and infused with a sense of solidarity and aim of imagining and materialising new collective futures forward, together.

The workshop was generously funded by the Decolonial Futures RPA University of Amsterdam and the Netherlands Network for Human Rights Research, and supported by the Amsterdam Center for International Law.
